Walk to End Alzheimer's Collier County (Naples)
The 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer's in Naples, Collier County, FL will take place on November 9, 2024 at Baker Park (50 Riverside Cir, Naples, FL). The event starts at 8 a.m. with a ceremony, followed by the two-mile walk at 9 a.m.
This walk is part of a national campaign to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Participants are encouraged to form or join teams and engage in fundraising efforts, with a goal of $200,000 for this year’s event.
Each walker receives a Promise Garden flower—a symbolic element representing their connection to Alzheimer's (e.g., purple for those who have lost someone to the disease). Participants who raise at least $100 by a set deadline will receive an official event T-shirt.
The walk will proceed rain or shine, though severe weather may prompt cancellations. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, along with strollers, though skateboards and bicycles are discouraged for safety reasons. Volunteers are also needed to assist with various event tasks.
For those interested in participating, volunteering, or donating, you can visit the event's page through the Alzheimer’s Association site to register or make contributions. For more information, contact Cynthia Thompson at (321) 343-6498 or via email at cmthompson@alz.org.
This community-driven event offers a way to support the vision of a world without Alzheimer’s while fostering solidarity among participants and families.
