Meet Muffy
Muffy Clark Gill is a Naples-based mixed-media artist best known for her vibrant batik paintings on silk. Drawing inspiration from her global travels and personal photography archive of over 56,000 images, her work explores cultural and historical themes through the ancient art of wax-resist dyeing. Muffy combines traditional batik techniques with contemporary approaches like rozome, collage, and acrylic, resulting in richly layered pieces that often reflect the people, landscapes, and textures of Florida, the Caribbean, and beyond.
A graduate of Boston University with a BFA in Graphic Design, Gill has exhibited in more than 30 solo shows and has artwork featured in public collections including the Florida State Capitol, Florida Gulf Coast University, and the Marco Island Historical Museum. She is Vice President of Exhibitions for the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Women Artists, a board member of Silk Painters International, and maintains her home and studio in Naples, where she also teaches batik workshops.
