Blackbird Modern Asian serves pan-Asian cooking with southeast Asian influences and modern touches from executive chef and partner Tim Nickey. The menu runs from dim sum, such as short rib and bone marrow dumplings and pork belly "tiki" bao buns, to old-school Chinese plates like Cantonese egg rolls and dan dan noodles. Gabby's orange chicken, miso black cod and a whole Peking duck from Jurgielewicz Farms also appear.
The cocktail list has playful names like Confucius Says and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are marked on the menu, and there are separate gluten-free and kids menus. It suits a date night or special occasion in Downtown Naples, and groups can share larger plates like the wagyu tomahawk.
