Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a 13,000-acre nature preserve managed by the National Audubon Society. It features the largest remaining virgin bald cypress forest in North America, with some trees more than 500 years old. Visitors can explore the sanctuary via a 2.25-mile boardwalk that meanders through diverse ecosystems, including wetlands and pine uplands. Along the way, wildlife such as alligators, white-tailed deer, otters, and over 200 bird species, including herons, egrets, and the majestic wood stork, can be seen. Corkscrew Swamp also offers guided tours and educational programs to immerse visitors in the beauty of Southwest Florida’s unique environment.

The Blair Visitor Center and boardwalk are open daily at 8 a.m., with the last admission two hours before closing time.  Obtaining tickets online is recommended.
